Also known as Masjid Al-Noor, the Islamic Society of Southwest Washington formalized its organizational structure in 1998 by drafting a constitution, forming a governing body (consisting of a Board of Trustees, Board of Directors, and Majlis Al-shura), and securing an IRS Tax Exemption Status. The organization and Muslim community in Southwest Washington continued to grow. To address this growth the Islamic Society of Southwest Washington purchased a property in 2007 and established Masjid Al-Noor – the current location of the organization.
