Hole in the wall kinda restaurant. They don't have a menu, only have photos of the menu items. The person in there selling didn't seem super comfortable with English, so it was hard to get our questions answered. We asked for the goat + rice, we were charged $22.
Definitely not super cheap/affordable as other comments suggest. I guess they increased the price recently.
Food tasted good, had decent portion. Goat was cooked really soft. I wish they had menu and were more transparent. Not a lot of slots for parking
My favorite place to eat in Washington, hands down.
✨ I feel like it's the only one that sticks out and you don't have to pay exorbitant amounts of money to have the the quality and depth of flavors that this place does. I love the people there. This couple just feel like family. They're always so warm and friendly. It's like they have this bright way about them. ✨
The GOAT though. So tender and flavorful, the rice they make, goodness, I have to try my hardest not to shovel it in my mouth. It's like I can get enough, ever. I end up buying two of the goat meals and eating one on the way home. (20-30 minute drive.) The mix of the tangy salad, fragrant rice, and the tender delectable goat, is a trifecta made in Paradise. ️
The chicken is as well. Gawd, I'm hungry now.
I've started cooking at home or even going to Portland and LA for food ventures because there's just nothing with that, "Wow," factor for me here, really, unless it's an eating experience and I'm paying tons of money. ♀️ This, this is worth it.
I crave this place too many times. I'm scared to share this because this place is sacred, and usually when places blow up, it changes things, but they're just such a wonderful couple and I want to support them as much as possible.
First time having Somalian food, and I wasn't disappointed. The texture of the meat was succulent, full of different spices, and very spicy. Reccomend pairing it with cool mint tea. Parking is very limited in the lot, so it's best to park nearby, and walk.
We were looking for a place to eat after 8pm and found this place. We were greeted with “ Welcome to Paradise” by the lady. No menu. They had chicken, goat, lamb with rice or spaghetti. We asked vegetables and stir fried lettuce came with it. We also received bananas. It was explained to us that Somali people eat bananas with their meals. Very interesting! They also had interesting looking soft drinks as well. We were not sure how much the meals would be..... I wish they had a simple menu though. People there were very friendly and the food was very good. There is a parking dedicated to this restaurant.
Don’t let the outer appearance fool you, this place is a gem!. Authentic Somali food and the chai was amazing. Great hospitality, would recommend if your looking to try East African cuisine.
